- The Multisectoral Emergency and Rehabilitation Project (PMER) is focused on the rehabilitation and reconstruction of existing infrastructure, rural roads and bridges, health and education services, electricity, rural development, water supply and sanitation network, and solutions to erosion problems in Moxico. The main objective of the environmental and social component of the PMER is to include this component in its subprojects, associated with the contribution to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Republic of Angola. It comprises the following activities:
• Activity 1 - Establishment of the environmental and social process framework;
• Activity 2 - Development of subproject assessment and implementation;
• Activity 3 - Strengthening institutional capacity.
Preparation of terms of reference for tenders, environmental and social impact assessment, environmental and social monitoring of the works included in the project, environmental management and training of senior technicians from various ministries on environmental and social impact assessment.
